Throughout the history of music, it is shown that artists have a process to delivering an album. The artist will get together with producers, songwriters, and maybe even other artists to feature for songs. They make tons of different songs and decide what will be released as the single. The single is promoted and later on a video. Songs are selected for the album and then the album is promoted. Of course when everyone and everything is right on track the album isn’t pushed back (which happens often). December 13th, 2013, Beyonce’ changed the game when she dropped her self-titled, unexpected album. Her surprise debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and sold 828,773 copies worldwide in its first three days of release. Beyonce’ has inspired other artists such as Drake, U2 and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke who followed in these footsteps by releasing their own secret projects. Beyonce’ is known for many things, however this moment challenged other artists. With this album she left a stamp on the industry.
This is phenomenal.
